Our Vision and Purpose
Vision: By opening a doorway of opportunity, The Shepherd’s Home endeavors to be a premier provider of hope, transforming one life at a time and empowering generations of those devastated by the effects of addiction to become Christ-centered citizens by applying the Gospel to all areas of their lives, thereby producing caring, productive and responsible leaders for our churches and communities.
Purpose: To bring glory to God by providing a safe environment for men and women in recovery to grow in their relationship to Jesus Christ, establish new relationships, find employment, and develop new habits of living that will provide a foundation for a continued life of sobriety and productivity spiritually, emotionally and socially.
Through Bible study, education, and learning opportunities, we strive to be all God wants us to be in heart, mind, and body.
We wish for something with expectation of its fulfillment especially the hope of a new life in Jesus Christ. We believe the promises of God’s Word which guarantee a life overflowing with the goodness of God through Jesus Christ, and we live today in light of that hope.
We face our challenges without fear; having the determination to do the right thing even when others don't. I Corinthians 10:13
We adhere to our course of action, belief, or purpose especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement.
We take care of ourselves and others; we carry out our duties or tasks carefully and thoroughly. We are accountable for our commitments and actions.
Showing consideration and regard for ourselves, others, and the world around us, we do our jobs and help each other. We depend on each other to make the whole greater than the sum of the parts. We work to understand our roles so we can be better leaders, followers, and co-workers.
When we see others need help or support, we don’t wait to be asked for a helping hand. We act to ensure that others have every opportunity to succeed.
We find and savor enjoyment and pleasure on-the-job and at home. Although we each have a job focused on a serious mission, we find ourselves laughing and playing together.
We strive to be open and honest with each other about successes and problems. We work to build on our successes and solve our problems. We will work to be living examples of our values. We seek to be pure both in mind and body. We guard our tongues, allowing the Holy Spirit to speak through us. We guard our eyes and ears from that which is displeasing to God.
We do the best we can in everything we do adding customer delight to all whom we associate with. As accountable people, we desire to excel and give our best effort to imitate Jesus Christ who does all things well.
We will support the purpose of The Shepherd’s Home through service, both within the home and in the community, thereby demonstrating the overflowing goodness of God.
12. Health and Well Being
We will take care of our bodies, physically, mentally, and emotionally. The better we are able to balance our lives and health, the better we can serve ourselves, our families, each other, and our purpose.
With tenacity, discipline, undefeatable spirit, and the help of God, we can overcome any obstacle.
